Mrs. Šárka was looking forward to a nice weekend with her daughter, who moved to a new house outside Prague with her family. Instead, Mrs. Šárka's car broke down on the motorway and she was forced to stop. She pulled into a parking lane and called for assistance. But when she tried to get out of the car, she was hit by a passing vehicle.

She suffered severe head and chest injuries in the accident and was airlifted to hospital. Ms. Sharka's family contacted their attorney and together they initiated proceedings with the at-fault driver. Subsequently, on the advice of their financial advisor, they asked us to assist them in pursuing compensation.

In conjunction with forensic experts, we had all legal claims quantified and asked the family to appoint a guardian who could represent Mrs. Šárka in this situation. However, Mrs. Šarka's condition was so serious that she died within a few days.
Some of the claims became legally unenforceable due to the death of Ms. Šarka and the absence of a guardian, and we had to re-evaluate the current options for compensating the surviving family. In this case, we have reasserted claims for compensation for mental anguish of family members.
